Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the occupiers have deported 8,732 children from Ukraine. We explain why the enemy steals our children.
Since October, the Russian occupying authorities postponed the holidays in schools in the Kherson region and began taking Ukrainian children to “rehabilitate” in the previously occupied Crimea. We are talking about 1,200 deported schoolchildren from one region. Also, information about the removal of children comes from the Zaporizhzhia region.
However, in both regions, children have not been returned to their parents. The parents were confronted with the fact that the children were “delayed for an indefinite period of rest” and ordered to hand over warm things. Children were also illegally sent to local Russian schools for further Russification.
In addition, throughout October, the Russians are taking children from the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions to Russia. And this is only in three weeks of October. Previously, the occupiers committed similar actions in Mariupol, Bucha, Irpen, Izyum, Kupyansk and other settlements.
In fact, the children are now hostages of the occupiers. With the help of which the Russians want to take the parents of the children to the Russian Federation, that is, to deport local people.
At the same time, children are sometimes taken to remote regions of Russia to make it difficult for them to return home. In particular, children are taken to Vladivostok and Tyumen. Orphaned children are then placed in care, with possible adoption. All these facts and data are documented by Ukrainian law enforcement officers.
It is cynical that Ukrainian children are used in propaganda for the domestic consumer, talking about “saving children from the Nazis”, which fits into the narrative of Russian propaganda.
Ukraine’s National Resistance Center calls on families with children in the temporarily occupied territories to leave the region if possible, and also not to trust their children to the occupying authorities.
