The Russians at TOT continue to put pressure on entrepreneurs who continue using hryvnia.
On January 1 the Russians introduced a mandatory ruble zone in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. Therefore, immediately after the new year the occupiers raided local businessmen who resisted introduction of the ruble and continued to use hryvnia.
Currently, the occupiers are threatening entrepreneurs with property confiscation and the seizure of all currency for using the hryvnia. However people continue to use legal Ukrainian currency.
Russians are also trying to devalue the hryvnia as much as possible. Exchange rates are basically one to one. Also, for withdrawing hryvnias from the card, the occupiers charge a 15-20% commission.
Despite all the obstacles people will continue to use hryvnia.
