The formation of a local “public chamber” has been completed in the temporarily occupied territories of Kherson region.
This is a fake body without powers that aims to create the illusion of civil society in Russia. In fact, the chamber issues “certificates of public figures” and assesses “legislative initiatives”. The Chamber’s management is appointed by Vladimir Putin.
“Certified” public figures play the role of a sham observer in elections. That’s why the Kremlin recalled the regional branches of the Chamber in the TOT, as preparations for the pseudo-elections in September are underway.
The Kherson branch was headed by Ihor Kachur, a local traitor who used to sell shoes before the war. However, the first meeting was held by Vladimir Saldo’s deputy, a Russian named Igor Chugayev, who is actually in charge of the region.
It should be noted that the members of the local chamber are committing a crime, as they officially work for the occupiers, and will be held accountable for their actions in accordance with the procedure provided for by the current legislation.
