Critical shortage of doctors in TOT, patients wait weeks for an appointment

The humanitarian crisis is intensifying in the temporarily occupied territories, the civilian population is left without access to quality medicine.

Most civilian hospitals in the temporarily occupied territories do not function. More than half of the hospitals have already been repurposed into military hospitals. Another part was simply closed by the occupiers due to lack of personnel. As the National Resistance Center previously reported, there is a shortage of more than 3,000 medics in the TOT.

Those hospitals that are still working do not provide quality services to people. The local population gives us the information that Russian doctors, who come to TOT on a business trip, deliberately make life difficult for them. People are forced to wait weeks for an appointment with doctors. And if it is a highly specialized specialist, for example an oncologist, then more than a month. At the same time, local administrations are trying to provide better service conditions to Russians who are currently in TOT. Russians have access to better medicines, at a time when local people can no longer buy essential medicines in pharmacies.
