Every year on August 23, Ukrainians celebrate the National Flag Day, honoring one of the main symbols of our country, which reflects national traditions and identifies our land.
From the times of Kyivan Rus to the present day, the yellow and blue colors have been part of our national code. Through centuries of hardships, trials and struggles, we have carried them through to fly proudly over our country.
In the time of struggle, our flag took on even greater significance. It has become a symbol of resistance, our national pride and desire for freedom. It is raised on the front lines, in liberated cities, and symbolizes our struggle for the future of an independent and sovereign Ukraine.
