Russians in the temporarily occupied Luhansk will hold a propaganda event called “My Voroshilovgrad” on the city’s day, using the Soviet name of the city that it had until the 1990s. Students and teachers from local schools are planned to be gathered to act as extras for the cameras.
This event is part of the Kremlin invaders’ strategy to restore the ideological influence of the past, trying to return Ukraine to Soviet times. Through such actions, the enemy seeks to create nostalgia for the USSR and impose the idea of a “great Soviet past” on the residents of the temporarily occupied territories, disguising the real goal of consolidating its control and justifying aggression.
Such propaganda campaigns with the forced participation of state employees are systematic in the TOT of Ukraine. For example, during summer vacations, local collaborators drove children to village clubs to watch films about the “Great Patriotic War”.
The National Resistance Centre calls for reporting collaborators so that each of them does not escape punishment for crimes against humanity.Anyone can stop the policy of the Russian invaders and their collaborators by publicizing their crimes and demanding their international prosecution. You can also participate in rallies in support of Ukraine or donate to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
