In the temporarily occupied territories, Russians are preparing for a “celebration” on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the victory in World War II.

At the same time, all events should be structured and carry a common narrative about the sole victory of Russia in this war. By belittling the role of the allies, denying the alliance between Stalin and Hitler at the beginning of the war, and discrediting Ukraine’s role in the war.
In particular, Ukrainians will be portrayed as collaborators of the Nazis and parallels will be drawn between the present and the past. Attendance at the events will be enforced by the occupation administrations.
