The enemy has officially registered the first “Cossack society” in the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia region as part of its ongoing effort to rewrite and appropriate another nation’s history.
Last year, the Russian occupation administration appointed the first so-called atamans to lead newly established Cossack centers in the TOT. However, these centers are entirely fictitious, consisting only of the “atamans” themselves, with no actual members.
Despite this facade, the Russians have formally registered one such association under the name “Azov Cossack Farm Society.” It is headed by Viktor Plutka, a fringe figure with a criminal record and multiple convictions.
It is crucial to highlight that these groups, which the Russians are attempting to legitimize under the guise of “Cossacks,” have no connection to authentic Cossack heritage. This is merely another instance of Russia’s typical strategy of appropriating and distorting the history of others. You can stop the policy of the Russian invaders and their collaborators by publicizing their crimes and demanding their international prosecution. You can also participate in rallies in support of Ukraine or donate to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
