The National Resistance Center Identifies Russian War Criminal Involved in Civilian Killings in Hostomel

The National Resistance Center has obtained new evidence of war crimes committed by Russian forces, thanks to information from concerned citizens. Every move of the occupiers, including their future plans, remains under the watchful eyes of those who will never accept Russia’s occupation of Ukrainian land.

One such criminal is a Russian terrorist who participated in the initial days of the full-scale invasion — when the enemy planned to seize Kyiv in just three days. Among them was special forces officer Serhiy Kichanov, who was fortunate to survive. The same cannot be said for 200 of his fellow invaders, who became nothing more than fertilizer for Ukrainian soil near Hostomel Airport.

On February 24, 2022, Putin’s “invincible” army launched its so-called “lightning” offensive on Kyiv, with grand plans to seize Hostomel Airport and parade into the Ukrainian capital within hours.

To achieve this, Russia deployed its elite airborne troops, specializing in airfield seizures. According to Russian pro-war sources, the primary role in storming and holding the airport was assigned to the special forces of the elite 45th Airborne Brigade, based in Kubinka near Moscow.

Among these thugs — who had already gained notoriety for their bloody crimes in Chechnya and Georgia — was Sergey Anatolyevich Kichanov, the war criminal in question.

But something went terribly wrong for the so-called “second-best army in the world.” Ukrainian conscripts and the National Guard, alongside the Defense Forces, utterly humiliated the Russian special forces. In less than 36 hours, Putin’s “heroes” became nothing more than extras in the story of their own defeat. According to rough estimates, at least 200 of these “elite” Russian paratroopers were killed.

And it was this humiliating failure that exposed the true inhumanity of the Kremlin’s terrorists. Frustrated and enraged, Moscow’s sadists turned their fury on the civilians of Hostomel, targeting those who tried to flee the combat zone.

We have already documented the war crimes committed by Russian troops in the first days of the full-scale invasion — such as the deliberate shooting of civilian vehicles. It is known that Sergey Kichanov was directly involved in these attacks. Yet, instead of facing justice, on August 25, 2022, Putin personally awarded this terrorist the Order of Courage. Of course, the Kremlin’s official narrative conveniently omitted Kichanov’s role in murdering civilians, instead fabricating a heroic tale of his supposed efforts to help Russian forces advance toward the airfield.

However, Kichanov’s crimes were not confined to the Kyiv region. Documents provided by concerned citizens reveal that Sergeant Kichanov was also active in Donbas.

However, in 2023, Sergeant Kichanov’s work at the State Geological Survey must have taken a turn for the worse. In April of that year, he decided to look for new employment. Among the documents we received, the application form filled out by Kichanov for a vacant position at REDUT-BEZPEKA LLC stands out.

In open sources, the company positions itself as a vehicle maintenance and repair company.

However, if you look deeper, it becomes clear that Redut-Bezpeka LLC is essentially a private military company that recruits Russians for paid wars, including in Ukraine.

By the way, such organizations are banned in Russia. That’s why the director of this LLC, Sergey Gennadievich Sidorov (also known as Evgeny Gennadievich Sidorov), despite several failed attempts to set up a private military company and even a three-year prison sentence back in 2014, did not give up on his dream of having a private army. Instead, he created a fake company to cover his activities.

But back to our sergeant. After returning from Ukraine, Kichanov’s fortunes took a downturn, and he decided to try his luck with the Redut Security private military company (PMC). However, this did not improve his situation. On the contrary, immediately after the war criminal changed his ‘workplace,’ his wife, Tetyana Kichanova, filed for divorce, realizing that given her husband’s service in a private military company, she wouldn’t even get a pack of dumplings in the event of his demise.

You can stop the policy of the Russian invaders and their collaborators by publicizing their crimes and demanding their international prosecution. You can also participate in rallies in support of Ukraine or donate to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
