Programs for the so-called patriotic education of young Ukrainians in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine are actively lobbied from the Kremlin. Schoolchildren of all ages are regularly taken to Russia. This time, 95 students from Yasynuvata, Amvrosiivka, and Makiivka, aged 14 to 17, will undergo propaganda training in Naberezhnye Chelny under Putin’s University Changes program.
It is known that last fall alone, the occupiers took 10,000 Ukrainian children for “rehabilitation”. Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Kremlin has set a plan for each of its regions to take “patronage” of at least 2,500 young Ukrainians annually. This is part of a broader strategy to Russify and fully integrate the younger generation into the occupation structures.
The National Resistance Center reminds that all those involved in the deportation of Ukrainian children and the forced change of their identity (which is an act of genocide under international law) will be held accountable for their actions.
