In the temporarily occupied territories, the Russians have decided to take control of even the programs of children’s parties on New Year’s Eve and Christmas.
Schools and kindergartens have to submit programs of matinees to the occupation authorities. The latter have to approve them or make adjustments.
An interesting point is the de facto ban on the mention of St. Nicholas, traditional for Ukrainian children, and the “Western” Santa Claus during the holidays.
Instead, the matinees are supposed to talk about “Russian culture” and be based on Russian mythology and fairy tales.
The National Resistance Center notes that this is another element of the Kremlin’s attempt to destroy Ukrainian culture and identity.
You can stop the policy of the Russian invaders and their collaborators by publicizing their crimes and demanding their international prosecution. You can also participate in rallies in support of Ukraine or donate to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
