The occupation authorities have introduced a new procedure for paying scholarships at the Kerch State Maritime Technical University. As a result, students will receive financial support only if they are registered for the so-called military service. This step is yet another attempt to forcibly militarize young people in the temporarily occupied territories and grossly violates international human rights standards.
The forced recruitment of civilians for military service in the occupied territories contradicts the Geneva Convention, which prohibits the Occupying Power from forcing persons to serve in its armed forces. Such actions of the occupying authorities are not only illegal, but also immoral, as they jeopardize the lives and future of the younger generation.
The Center for National Resistance recommends that students and their families be careful and seek all available ways to avoid such situations.
You can stop the policy of the Russian invaders and their collaborators by publicizing their crimes and demanding their international prosecution. You can also participate in rallies in support of Ukraine or donate to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
