In temporarily occupied Skadovsk, children are being taught to take pride in losing their homeland

In kindergartens across the temporarily occupied Kherson region, mandatory lessons were held marking the second anniversary of the “reunification” with Russia. Young Ukrainian children were taught about the “Russian world” that invaders brought into their homes, instilling a sense of pride in being associated with the Kremlin. At the Skadovsk preschool “Romashka,” children listened to a propagandist lecture about their “new homeland,” Russia, and watched a video about Russia and Kherson.

The invaders use such events to create a distorted narrative, presenting temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories as an ‘inseparable part’ of Russia. This strategy aims to raise a new generation that will perceive the occupation as something natural and inevitable. Young children are indoctrinated with ideas that deny Ukrainian identity, history, and sovereignty, fostering loyalty to the aggressor country.

These propaganda events are part of a larger information war aimed at erasing Ukrainian identity and justifying the occupation. The National Resistance Center stresses that anyone who assists the invaders in brainwashing young Ukrainians with Kremlin propaganda will be held accountable for this crime.
