Representatives of the Russian occupation authorities are actively continuing their criminal activities aimed at ideological processing of children in the TOT of Ukraine. In particular, in the Kruglikivska school of Lutuhyn district, Luhansk region, schoolchildren are forced to participate in so-called celebrations and swear allegiance to the occupation regime, joining the ranks of the “movement of the first” and “eagles of Russia” movements.
According to the Kremlin’s partner in this event, the principal of school No. 79 in Ulyanovsk, Chernova Tetyana, this ceremony is an integral part of the “liberators’” policy of Russification of the population under occupation.
We would like to add that such events are not voluntary: pressure on students and their families is accompanied by threats, discrimination and distortion of information.
We also note that crimes against children are a significant tool of influence and a major part of the occupation policy. Such actions violate a number of international norms, including the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, which guarantees the right to education without political or ideological pressure. The occupiers are deliberately trying to destroy the Ukrainian national identity of children, forming a false idea of history and culture.
In addition, holding such events in the schools of the occupied territories demonstrates the occupiers’ fear of the invincibility of the Ukrainian people. Children who are under pressure today remain part of a large Ukrainian family that continues to fight for their future.
