Collecting drones for the so-called “war heroes”, camouflage nets, trench candles, money for medicines – this is how children in the “Artek” in annexed Crimea are “resting” now. The other day, Artek children collected 223 kilograms of olives to send to the enemy army.
Such “volunteer” actions are regularly organized by local collaborators. On the basis of a once exemplary recreation camp for children, the Kremlin’s henchmen have created an entire production facility for aid to the Russian army. Here, young guests have to work compulsory labor hours. At least 6 hours a week.
The practice of involving the population in supporting Putin’s army is very common in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. The main goal is to distort the truth about the purpose of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and to foster loyalty among the younger generation to the occupiers. For example, the Russians held lessons of “international friendship” where children drew postcards in support of North Korea.
