In the temporarily occupied territories of the Donetsk region, local residents have not been receiving drinking water for more than a day.
The locals have started blocking the streets and demanding explanations from the authorities, but the occupiers have not yet taken a position agreed upon by the Kremlin and are ignoring the rallies. Meanwhile, water has not been supplied to local residents for more than a day, and in the best cases, for a few hours a day.
As a reminder, residents of Donetsk have been experiencing interruptions in water supply as the Siverskyi Donets-Donbas water pipeline is not functioning due to the fighting.
To solve the problem, the occupiers spent two years building a new water pipeline from the Don, but its capacity did not solve the problem, and water is still supplied to Donetsk on schedule.
Now, due to the power outage in Russia, the pumping stations of the newly built canal are out of order, and the water supply system has stopped completely. Repairs will take months, and the water situation in the occupied territories has deteriorated.
The Center of National Resistance notes that under international law, it is the occupier who is responsible for ensuring life support in the occupied territories.
Anyone can stop the policy of the Russian invaders and their collaborators by publicizing their crimes and demanding their international prosecution. You can also participate in rallies in support of Ukraine or donate to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
