Alchevsk Steel Works, located in the temporarily occupied territories of Luhansk Oblast, is facing an acute shortage of labor. The reasons for this are mass mobilization, non-payment of wages and the general economic decline of the enterprise.
As a result, men are unwilling to go to “official” work, as the lists are immediately transferred to military registration and enlistment offices.
According to local sources, a significant number of employees were forcibly mobilized into the ranks of the Russian occupation forces. This has significantly reduced the company’s staff and complicated the production process. Another serious problem is delays in salary payments. Employees complain that they have not been paid for several months, and the company’s management does not provide any guarantees of further payments. This further aggravates the situation, as even those who remain employed are forced to look for additional sources of income.
In addition, the lack of raw materials and disrupted logistics further complicate the plant’s operations. Due to the destruction of the infrastructure and supply problems, the company cannot fully function.
