In the annexed Crimea, the Russian administration continues to impose the cult of war on young people. Recently, the so-called “opening of the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland” took place there, another propaganda event aimed at preparing young people for mobilization.
The ceremony, which was supposed to create the impression of mass support, turned out to be just another show. State employees, students and teachers were forced to attend to fill the hall with simulated supporters of Russian aggression. In reality, most Crimeans remain hostages to a repressive system that crushes any resistance.
The biggest cynicism of this event was that the youth were addressed by representatives of the Storm assault unit of the 810th Marine Brigade of the enemy army. This unit was manned not only by mobilized soldiers, but also by former prisoners, including those convicted of serious crimes. The occupiers seek to make “heroes” of these criminals, as well as to conceal real losses among the ranks of the occupying army.
In addition, educational institutions on the territory of the occupied peninsula have been effectively turned into propaganda centers. Students are taught how to obey the occupation regime. The invaders are also trying to recruit new so-called “volunteers” through universities, using blackmail and threats.
Thus, the occupiers are most afraid of losing Crimea, and that is why they are trying to suppress any resistance with mass propaganda. They know that Crimeans remember what freedom is, and no amount of lies can erase that. You can stop the policy of the Russian invaders and their collaborators by publicizing their crimes and demanding their international prosecution. You can also participate in rallies in support of Ukraine or donate to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
