Russians are organizing systematic inspections of houses and apartments in the temporarily occupied territories.
Representatives of the Russian occupation administrations are organizing house inspections to record the homes where people live. If people are found living in these houses, they will be the first to vote at home during Putin’s “elections.”
Thus, starting February 17, the occupiers will conduct a “door-to-door” campaign. The goal is to allegedly inform the local population about the peculiarities of the electoral process. But in fact, it is to campaign and intimidate the local population not to sabotage the “elections”, as the locals did during the “local elections” of 2023 and the “referendum” of 2022.
There is no doubt that this process has nothing to do with elections.
For example, during the fake elections to local councils, the so-called election commission reported a turnout of 37,786 thousand Berdyansk residents. This is more than the number of city residents who participated in the legitimate local elections in 2020.
In fact, the Russians will once again take violent measures to create a minimal picture of “expression of will”. This is a gross violation of international law.
