The Russian occupiers continue to coerce students into participating in so-called voluntary activities to clean up fuel oil from the Black Sea coast.
Russia remains unable to adequately address the consequences of its reckless policies, as evidenced by the collision of two aging tankers in the Kerch Strait—vessels that should not have been in operation. As is typical, the empire relies on exploiting the populations of subjugated regions to handle the fallout of its own failures.
Initially, groups from the temporarily occupied territories (TOT) were sent to Russia’s Krasnodar Territory and occupied Crimea to assist with the cleanup. Now, a new group is being dispatched to the TOT in Kherson. The local “administration” has already received a directive to fulfill recruitment quotas for these so-called “volunteers.”
It is notable that pro-Kremlin organizations oversee the recruitment of these “volunteers.” Despite being tasked with handling hazardous materials, the recruited students are not provided with protective equipment, putting their health at significant risk.
You can stop the policy of the Russian invaders and their collaborators by publicizing their crimes and demanding their international prosecution. You can also participate in rallies in support of Ukraine or donate to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
