Yes, the occupiers forced the children of the Oleshki boarding house to write letters to Russian soldiers. According to the idea, these were supposed to be letters of gratitude for the gift, which the “soldiers” handed over to the children.
In fact, the gift sets were bought by the occupation administration, but presented as gifts from the soldiers, for which each child had to write a letter of thanks to the occupier. In this way, children formed an opinion about the friendly attitude of the occupier towards them.
