The Russian occupation forces have reported on the “activities” of their Russian Guard department in the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia region for 2024. These so-called activities are, in reality, focused on intensifying repression, imposing total control, and demonstrating force to intimidate the local population.
Under the guise of providing “security” at over 180 public events in Melitopol, Berdiansk, and other occupied areas, the Russian Guard has been deploying its resources to suppress resistance. The announced “checks” for explosive devices serve as a cover for intimidating residents and identifying activists resisting the occupation regime.
The so-called special units of SOBR and OMON, acting as punitive forces, have forcibly accompanied more than 2,500 events organized by the occupiers. These repressive measures have led to the detention of over 70 individuals on fabricated charges of “crimes,” which are simply pretexts for targeting pro-Ukrainian citizens.You can stop the policy of the Russian invaders and their collaborators by publicizing their crimes and demanding their international prosecution.
