In the temporarily occupied territories, compulsory passportization continuous, and it is almost impossible to leave the region without receiving enemy’s passport. Without a Russian passport, a Ukrainian at every checkpoint of the occupiers is guaranteed an in-depth check, or even detention. Free movement in the region is actually prohibited.
At the same time, the presence of enemy’s passport in most cases exempts from such problems. Therefore, it is almost impossible to leave the region with a Ukrainian passport when traveling to the Russian Federation. The occupiers closed their exit to Ukraine last year.
In fact, the occupiers are holding local residents as hostages, and create conditions when life without a Russian passport is impossible.
Recall that the Russians continue to try to implement the plan of forced passportization of residents of temporarily occupied regions. In particular, a new tool is used to encourage the population to obtain Russian passports – the issuance of state housing certificates of the Russian Federation intended for the purchase of housing in the territory of the Russian Federation.
