Our resistance began in Crimea

On February 26, we remember how the resistance to the Russian occupation began and the place where it started – Crimea.

On February 26, 2014, residents of the peninsula, regardless of religion or origin, united and went to the central square of Simferopol to show that there was no “voluntary annexation” taking place. It was the first protest against the annexation of the peninsula.

Unfortunately, the Russians took advantage of our country’s temporary weakness and, with the help of traitors, seized Crimea and turned it into an open-air military base. Tens of thousands of residents were forced to leave their homes. Hundreds of people went missing or were imprisoned.

However, despite the repressions, Crimean residents played an active role in the destruction of the Black Sea Fleet and the escape of its remnants to Russia, providing the necessary information to the Defense Forces. The Crimean resistance was not only not destroyed, but on the contrary, it spread throughout Ukraine.

There was no voluntary accession. There was an occupation, and the time will come when the occupiers will go back to the ruins of their empire. And this will happen, among other things, thanks to the members of the Crimean underground.
