In the regions bordering Ukraine, the military commissariats of the Russian Federation distributed the first certificates of combat veterans to the fighters of the “Wagner” PMC.
Thousands of prisoners who were recruited from jails throughout the Russian Federation served in this formation, which is legally outlawed in the Russian Federation. Including for serious crimes, rape, causing grievous bodily harm, murder, etc. Many of them also had hepatitis B, C and HIV/AIDS viral diseases.
From now on the “veteran” certificate gives them the right to receive various social benefits and payments from the state and also confirms the corresponding status. They began to issue them to the “Wagners” after a direct line from Putin, who declared the need to regulate the activities of the “Wagner” PMC and “renew the rights” of the members of this illegal armed formation.
After the unsuccessful mutiny of Yevgeny Prigozhin the members of this international criminal and terrorist organization were divided into “Storm z” units of the Russian Federation.
Until 2022, these units were used by Russia to participate in armed conflicts without the involvement of regular troops and conduct operations under a “foreign flag”. Therefore, a small number of them, through Belarus, were also sent to the African continent, where the Russian Federation supports a number of local dictator regimes.
