Russia restricts the rights of people in the TOT due to the lack of a Russian passport

Since the beginning of its large-scale invasion, Russia has been consistently trying to integrate the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine into its legal, social and economic space. A key aspect of this process is the forced passportization of the population, accompanied by restrictions on the rights of those who refuse to give up their enemy passports.

For our enemy, forced passportization is an instrument of control and pressure on the population of the occupied territories. In this regard, the Russian occupation administrations are working to improve the system of restrictions.

Let us consider the main ones:

·         Restriction of freedom of movement;

·         Deprivation of the right to “social security”;

·         Deprivation of the right to work;

·         Alienation of property;

·         Deprivation of parental rights.

At the same time, the enemy is increasing social exclusion. This means that, in addition to the so-called “official” restrictions, people without Russian passports face social isolation and discrimination by the Russian occupation administration.

As a result, Russian passportization in the TOT of Ukraine is a means of control, discrimination and violation of fundamental human rights. Such measures by the enemy are a direct violation of international law, in particular the Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War.

The National Resistance Center emphasizes to all the criminals of the occupation regime that Ukraine, with the support of the international community, is taking all possible measures to record and investigate the crimes committed so that after the de-occupation of the regions, all those involved will be brought to justice in accordance with the laws of Ukraine. The National Resistance Centre calls for reporting collaborators so that each of them does not escape punishment for crimes against humanity. Anyone can stop the policy of the Russian invaders and their collaborators by publicizing their crimes and demanding their international prosecution. You can also participate in rallies in support of Ukraine or donate to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
