The Russian occupation administrations have invented a new, cynical way to force passportization in the temporarily occupied territories.
In eastern Ukraine, Russians are threatening those Ukrainians who have utility debts but do not have a Russian passport with confiscation of their property. Moreover, even if there are several owners of an apartment and one of them does not have a passport, they threaten to take his share in favor of the “state”.
In this way, the Russians are trying to speed up the pace of forced passportization, which is unsatisfactory for them because most Ukrainians refuse to receive a Russian passport.
