Thus, at the initiative of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, a draft law “on the denunciation by the Russian Federation of the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities” was submitted to the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
After this document enters into force, the top political leadership of the Russian Federation will formally get rid of restrictions on the implementation of the policy of assimilation of representatives of national minorities against their will, and will also change the proportional composition of ethnic groups in the TOT in accordance with its own intentions and plans.
Thus, the Kremlin intends to introduce a strict system of selection of collaborators based on their unambiguous ethnic self-identification – as Russians.
In addition, the occupation administrations will have more opportunities to strengthen the policy of eradicating Ukrainian identity in the temporarily occupied territories of eastern and southern Ukraine.
