For almost two years of its existence, the enemy has not been able to find volunteers for its battalions, which they created in the temporarily occupied territories.
Thus, in 2022, the Kremlin announced the creation of two units in the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions, named after the killers — Sudoplatova and Margelova, respectively.
According to the propagandists’ logic, this was supposed to legalize the invasion because the battalions were supposed to symbolize the readiness of TOT residents to fight for the aggressor. However, it was impossible to recruit volunteers, even given the high salaries in the region. Even in official events, Moscow hides the faces of terrorists so that it is not possible to establish their origin from the Russian Federation.
Therefore, the Kremlin assigned local gauleiters the task of increasing the number of locals in the groups to at least 10%, which would become a curtain in the propaganda performance. Currently, the task has been transferred to the “military registration and enlistment office,” which must form lists of candidates.
The National Resistance Center notes that all those who recruit the population of TOT for the war against the homeland are international criminals and will not be able to avoid responsibility.
