The Occupiers Are Tightening Control Over the Information Space in the TOT

The Russian occupation administration is intensifying efforts to completely isolate the local population from Ukrainian and international news, leaving them with nothing but propaganda narratives. To achieve this, the occupiers have ordered residents on the left bank of the Kherson region to dismantle all satellite dishes capable of receiving Ukrainian broadcasts.

The so-called “governor” of the region, Volodymyr Saldo, has issued an order requiring the removal of all “unlicensed” antennas that do not comply with Russian broadcasting standards by March 31, 2025.

In reality, this directive masks the occupiers’ true objective — to completely block Ukrainian television and force people to rely solely on Russian state-controlled media. The occupation administration insists that local residents use only the Russian satellite service “Russkiy Mir”, which has already been forcibly installed in 17,000 households on the left bank of the Kherson region. However, in typical Russian fashion, much of the equipment turned out to be defective, yet residents were still forced to pay a fee for it.

The ultimate goal of these actions is to establish total control over the information space in the TOT. The occupiers seek to deprive Ukrainians of the right to choose what they watch. Instead of objective and truthful news, they are being forced to consume nothing but Kremlin propaganda, including narratives about “liberation,” “the decaying West,” and other fabrications used to justify Russia’s war crimes in Ukraine.

You can stop the policy of the Russian invaders and their collaborators by publicizing their crimes and demanding their international prosecution. You can also participate in rallies in support of Ukraine or donate to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
