A massive wave of drug trafficking has swept through parts of the occupied regions of Ukraine. According to the Ukrainian underground, Donbas has become the most vulnerable to this problem. Large-scale schemes of supplying from Russia, manufacturing, and distributing various drugs have been operating here for years. For the most part, this business is “covered” by Kadyrov’s gangs.
However, the occupation authorities and collaborators pretend to fight drug trafficking. For example, a medical worker who was engaged in drug trafficking was recently detained. More than 10 kilograms of illegal drugs were seized from his home.
Drug addiction among the occupiers is a widespread phenomenon. The occupation forces do not hesitate to recruit drug addicts, and it is these people who show particular cruelty to the local population. Very often, Russian soldiers rob pharmacies and kill pharmacists when they cannot provide them with the necessary drugs. In general, the supply of medicines in the TOT is becoming critical.
