Ukraine currently has a laser weapon called Tryzub, and is developing a project to use a “queen bee drone” with two FPVs, said Colonel Vadym Sukharevskyi, commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Unmanned Systems Forces stated that today Ukraine is the fifth country that can say it has a laser. Today, Ukraine can shoot down airplanes at an altitude of more than 2 kilometers with this laser.
According to Sukharevsky, the Unmanned Systems Forces are now on the way to scaling up and strengthening the laser. He also drew attention to the development of “uterus” drones, which carry light attack drones.
Today, the Defense Forces are already using so-called “queen” drones, FPV carriers, with a depth of entry of more than 70 km. They carry 2 FPVs underneath and actually act as a repeater and hit deep enemy targets.
Speaking in general about the Unmanned Systems Force, the commander noted that “we are less than six months old,” and at this stage there are already combat and scientific units “that cover the air, land and water component.” According to him, the SBS group is operating along the entire front line.
