The Kremlin has launched yet another wave of war criminals’ involvement in the educational process. Now, so-called veterans of the war against Ukraine are being assigned to mentor schoolchildren in the temporarily occupied territories (TOT).
Andriy Samoilov, a “deputy” in the fake parliament of the so-called LPR, has been put in charge of overseeing the ideological indoctrination of Ukrainian children in the TOT. His immediate task is to recruit at least two so-called “Heroes of the Special Military Operation” in each educational institution, with the goal of instilling loyalty to Russia and its leader.
This practice has been in place since the beginning of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Since 2014, collaborators, mercenaries, and war criminals have conducted so-called “patriotic” lessons, meetings, and training sessions with children in the occupied territories, spreading propaganda about the “Russian world” and justifying military aggression. The goal is to reprogram Ukrainian children into obedient Kremlin loyalists, stripping them of their national identity and critical thinking skills.
