An important element of the Kremlin’s strategy of educating its henchmen is to involve young people in various pro-Russian propaganda organizations. “Yunarmiya” is one of the most advanced, modeled after Soviet children’s organizations. Today, in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk region, more than 5,000 children are already members of this militarized organization. But the biggest risk for children involved in such organizations is to be drawn into a real war.
This is confirmed by the fact that the Russians have planned a winter training camp for members of the Yunarmiya militant movement at training grounds in Crimea, alongside contract soldiers of their army. This is supposed to speed up the adaptation of the movement’s members to the real army and make the training more realistic.
