In March 2023, the Russians established their occupation administration on the territory of the reserve, headed by tourers from the Russian Federation. Since then, visiting the reserve is prohibited, except for certain areas.
At the same time, Russian military personnel were repeatedly spotted on the territory of the reserve. The purpose of their stay there is unknown.
It will be recalled that earlier it became known that the occupiers were preparing to rob the museum-reserve “Khersones Tavriyskyi”. The occupation administration of the museum is preparing acts of transfer for restoration to further display 300,000 exhibits from the reserve’s funds outside the museum.
