In the TOT of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, the Russians have called all police officers back from leave to strengthen the administrative and police regime for the period of the pseudo-elections. In particular, some of them will patrol the streets in civilian clothes and try to identify citizens who openly express disagreement with these measures.
The occupiers are also strengthening the protection of ‘polling stations’, personal protection of the heads of these ‘polling stations’, and one armed policeman will be assigned to ‘mobile polling stations’ that will make door-to-door visits.
According to the instructions given to the police, at the “polling stations” themselves, they should pay special attention to identifying citizens who are trying to spoil ballots or take photos/video of the election fraud.
As part of the Russian-organised staging of the electoral process in the TOT, the occupation administrations significantly overstated the number of voters on the voter roll. In particular, thanks to the activity of the Ukrainian underground in the TOT, it is known that only in the TOT of Donetsk region, the Russians submitted a voter list of more than 1.57 million people. And this is despite the fact that the occupiers themselves had previously stated that the population of the TOT of Donetsk region was 2.2 million people as of 01.03.2022, and given the number of mobilized people who were thrown to slaughter by Russia and the number of civilian victims of the war, most of the people on the lists have already died or left the TOT. According to the estimates of the Ministry of Reintegration of the TOT, in the autumn of 2022, the total population of the TOT, where Russia is currently organizing pseudo-elections, was about 1.2 million people.
The National Resistance Center calls on Ukrainian citizens to ignore this pseudo-election process. We also remind you that you can report information on the movement of the occupiers to the SSU chatbot
