Every day, our compatriots in Crimea risk their lives to express their disagreement with the Russian occupation. Their courageous actions, unbreakable spirit, and faith in the de-occupation of the peninsula serve as an example for us all.
Overview of the resistance in occupied Crimea:
Activists of the resistance movement continue their tireless work: destroying propaganda materials, distributing patriotic symbols, revealing the identity of collaborators and Russian criminals, and risking their lives to pass valuable information to Ukrainian special services.
Ordinary people express their disagreement with the occupation in ways that are available to them: by sharing truthful information on social media, supporting Ukraine and believing in its victory.
The occupiers are increasing pressure on Crimeans: they are increasing the number of surveillance cameras, intensifying monitoring of social networks, conducting illegal searches and detentions, trying to intimidate people and suppress any manifestation of resistance.
Detentions of citizens by repressive authorities in Crimea have been recorded:
- A 26-year-old resident of Sevastopol expressed an anti-war position and called for joining the underground on social media. He faces up to 15 years in prison for this.
- A resident of the village of Partizany expressed an anti-Russian position and called for the liberation of Crimea. He was detained, forced to apologize and fined. He now faces criminal charges.
- A man from Tsvitocne supported Ukraine on social media. He was detained, forced to apologize and referred to a “court”.
- A pensioner from Alushta spoke negatively about the occupation in a store. He was illegally arrested and placed in a detention center.
According to the Representative Office of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, as of June 29, 2024, there were about 850 cases of detention of citizens for the so-called “discrediting the Russian Armed Forces” in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
The National Resistance Center reminds that underground activity in social media requires careful preparation:
- your profiles should be anonymous and unrelated to your real friends, which can be used to identify you;
- do not use personal numbers or email addresses to create such profiles;
- always use anonymization services (VPN, proxy server);
- Use a specialized CENO browser;
- to freely express your opinion, it is better to use decentralized social networks such as Minds, Mastodom. It can also be Twitter (X) or Telegram, provided the profiles are properly configured, and the previously mentioned rules are followed.
Civil movements opposing the Russian occupation of the territory of the Crimean Peninsula:
“Yellow Ribbon” destroys propaganda and distributes patriotic symbols. More than 5,000 people are involved in the movement.
“The Crimean Fighting Seagulls” disclose the data of collaborators and Russian criminals.
“Zla Mavka” keeps diaries and distributes a weekly newspaper about the occupiers’ crimes. It also distributes Ukrainian leaflets to the TOT.
“ATESH” discovered the occupiers’ weapons and equipment depot, tracked their logistics routes and passed the data to Ukrainian services. Representatives of the Russian Guard are trying to recruit people, and surveillance in Yevpatoriya has been intensified.
We thank everyone who is resisting! Pass on information to help destroy the occupiers and speed up the peninsula’s liberation. Take care of your personal safety and the safety of your relatives and friends. Do not fall for provocations in public space, as there may be agents of the Crimean SMERSH and FSB officers in civilian clothes nearby.
Crimea is Ukraine! Together, we will liberate our peninsula!
You can stop the policy of the Russian invaders and their collaborators by publicizing their crimes and demanding their international prosecution. You can also participate in rallies in support of Ukraine or donate to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
